Sew Happy!

I am very, very happy today!  My sewing machine came back to me last week and I now get to focus on several projects that have been piling up.  First things first though, I need something to wear.  It has been horribly hot and a dress I had planned to wear for our July date...is TOO BIG!  It almost fell off me and I have not even tried to lose any weight recently.  It must be this heat and the excess "glistening."

So, I went to our local thrift store and found these beautiful fabrics and then I rummaged through my pattern pile and found a cute pattern to make a dress for our date.  Here is a picture to give you an idea:

As for our date, we are planning on watching Luccia Di Lammermoore as performed by the Metropolitan Opera.  This is part of Fathom Events and will be the first time I have ever watched an opera in a movie theater.  I am excited!
