Middle Eastern Make-Up

Cosmetics and the History of Cosmetics has always been fascinating to me.  Today there are so many people who are against wearing make up as they believe it is "not natural" or "conforming to society," when in actuality, cosmetics have been around for thousands of years.  Cosmetics are mentioned favorably in the Bible numerous times, the Egyptian hieroglyphics are full of painted eyes, Eastern India, Asia, the Middle East, African tribes and many in South Americans have adorned themselves with temporary and permanent forms of cosmetics since anyone can remember.

I love stunning make up.  To me it is an art form.  I don't wear much make up in the hot summertime, but you better believe that I enjoy it when it is cooler (and my husband LOVES to see me wear it).  While most cosmetics found in America are full of toxins that get absorbed through your skin and harm the body (including body washes and shampoos), there are a few companies here and there that are toxin free and made from natural plant materials that are safe for your body inside and out.  You may also be able to find a local business with ethical and sustainable practices.  Just do some searching and you will find what you are looking for!

So for today, let me share some of my favorite works of art,
Middle Eastern inspired make up.
Enjoy and let me know if you like this look!
