Clutter?

For the last couple of years we have been downsizing.  First we had a 2,000 square foot living space.  Then we went to 1,500 square feet.  Now?  We are at under 1,000 square feet of living space for four people and two pets with no garage (and no additional storage).  The secret?  Downsizing and decluttering.  I stopped buying into the idea (no pun intended) that stuff makes you happy quite awhile ago.

There is just so much that we do not need to be happy.  For our family we realized that good food and good books with a little creativity thrown in makes life quite enjoyable!  That is where the bulk of our spending money goes.

Was I always like this?  Yes, in a way.  My mother was a horder.  My sister was a horder.  There was no room for anyone else to be a horder.  I hated to clean my room after gift giving holidays as the gifts were not high quality, but high quantity.  It drove me nuts!  My mother nicknamed me, "The Queen of Throw Out."  As a horder, she did not mean that as a compliment.

So, when I recieved this in my email box today:

I was pleasantly surprised and happy!  I wanted to share it with all of you.  We all have problems of clutter here and there and it is nice to know that we are not alone.  I encourage you to sign up for Christine Rose Elle's email and get her new Wellbeing Guide Clutter Wake Up Call. She also has a three part blog series that just may give you some inspiration as well.  Enjoy!
