My husband and I go on one "real" date a month. We have at least one date a week, but only one a month that has monetary expense. As I have said before...we have a budget and dates that other people take for granted are quite an event for us.
We were dressed up, I had done my hair and make up, wore a dress and my husband had on a nice button down shirt and dress pants. We ate an early dinner with our boys, set them up with some activities to keep them busy while we were gone, and made sure they had our phone number in case of emergency (they are old enough and responsible enough to stay home alone for a few hours and do quite well).
My husband took me to see Snow White and the Huntsman in our local theater (I will be doing a series of posts about our thoughts). Then, we went for dessert at a local cafe. I had a fabulous slice of chocolate pie and my husband indulged in a carmel bread pudding. We were both very happy to eat and talk for awhile while sipping on strawberry lemonade.
To finish our evening together, at sunset, my husband took me to a park I had never been to before. I wish I had my camera with me. There was a pond and we counted about twenty turtles coming up to eat. We saw several small schools of fish and we also were about three yards away from a herd of deer grazing before their bedtime. It was incredibly peaceful and serene. Such a pastoral setting with blue dragonflies hovering, many different wildflowers and lush green aquatic plants. It was reminiscent of a fairy wood.
Have you been on a wonderful date recently with your husband or significant other? I would love to hear about it!
