Our indoor kitty is having a difficult time this spring. We have a Cardinal couple that like to sit out on the fence and talk to each other, close to our window, and then our kitty's instincts kick in. Alas, she cannot do anything about it, except talk. There is a window screen in her way. Most of the time she is very content and very happy, but when those birds get so close...she has a hard time dealing with life.
I am sure she must have part Bengal in her somewhere as Lil' Miss is the most talkative cat I have ever lived with. And talking to these cardinals is no exception. She talks to them as much as she talks to us. She is terribly lovable, I just wish I knew what she was saying so that we could have a proper conversation about these birds. I cannot help but feel that it would be therapeutic for her to be able to truly release her feelings about this situation.
She Sights A Bird-She Chuckles
by,
Emily Dickinson
She sights a Bird - she chuckles -
She flattens - then she crawls -
She runs without the look of feet -
Her eyes increase to Balls -
Her Jaws stir - twitching - hungry -
Her Teeth can hardly stand -
She leaps, but Robin leaped the first -
Ah, Pussy, of the Sand,
The Hopes so juicy ripening -
You almost bathed your Tongue -
When Bliss disclosed a hundred Toes -
And fled with every one -
